Wakasagi Medaka
Named after the slender pond smelt of Japan’s alpine lakes, this strain is a masterclass in subtle, contrasting beauty and is the cornerstone of our breeding program. It features a soft, icy blue body anchored by deep internal shadows along its core, evoking cool spring-fed rivers. Viewed from above, a brilliant band of silver-blue dorsal iridescence (Taigaikō) sweeps along its spine. Our premium strains feature glowing fins with clean margins that gracefully reflect light.
